Quiet Companion explores the ambiguity between absence and presence. A familiar form emerges through negative space, defined not by what is there, but by what surrounds it.

The dog appears as silhouette, held within radiating lines that suggest both energy and dispersal. It is unclear whether the figure is coming into being or dissolving, inviting the viewer to sit with that uncertainty.

The work reflects on the experience of loss. When a companion is gone, a void remains, yet their presence persists in less tangible ways. Absence and presence are not opposites here, but conditions that coexist.

Constructed through layered and sculptural elements, the piece uses contrast and repetition to hold this tension in place, allowing what is missing to remain perceptible.
