Almost Aligned

Mixed media (paper, PLA)
6×6 in, on cradled wooden panel
2026

Almost Aligned reflects on opposing systems brought into close contact. Vertical and horizontal elements advance from different directions, meeting at the center in near agreement yet stopping just short of alignment.

Working in white only, the piece relies on height, density, and shadow to articulate difference. What appears orderly at first reveals small misalignments on closer view.

Paper and PLA occupy the same plane while maintaining distinct structural qualities — flexibility and rigidity held side by side. Their proximity generates tension without resolution, remaining almost aligned.
