Common Ground

Common Ground is a mixed media work that gathers a group of figures within a shared field. Each occupies its own posture and direction, held together not by interaction, but by proximity.

The work attends to how presence accumulates through small distances and parallel moments. No single figure leads the scene. Meaning emerges gradually, as the eye moves from one body to the next.

Differences in scale, stance, and spacing are left intact. They are not resolved into symmetry or alignment. Instead, the composition allows variation to remain visible and ordinary.

In Common Ground, togetherness is not defined by convergence or exchange, but by the simple act of existing side by side. The scene holds without urgency, suggesting that shared space can be generous without requiring agreement.
